IMPACT PARTNERS

Part of our strategic Travelers' Philanthropy initiative that unites businesses and customers in the

tourism sector with local environmental, social, and economic causes.

HOW IT WORKS

Responsibility. Opportunity. Investment

1. We seek out businesses and individuals who are community-minded and dedicated to caring for the people of Monteverde and their cloud forest home.

2. Then, we work together to create a mechanism for channeling dollars into the community.  This takes many forms: annual giving, matching customer donations, and donated proceeds from a select product, for example.

3. Finally, we reinvest those funds in our impact model and, principally, our Small Grants Program.

MEET THE LOCAL ENTERPRISES:

Coffee Tours Alliance

Five local coffee tours formed an alliance that recognizes the importance of practicing community philanthropy. They will be donating $1 per visitor to the Monteverde Community Fund and the Asoc. Desarrollo San Luis to invest in social and environmental projects that benefit the community.

Café de Monteverde also gives $2 from every Cloud Forest Blend coffee sale and $1 per bag sold online to the FCM, and they are the principal sponsor for the 200km for Monteverde  program.

Monteverde Hotels Solidarity Alliance

As a result of the experience lived in Monteverde and thanks to the positive leadership of local entrepreneurs, the Monteverde Hotels Solidarity Alliance was born. Inspired by the coffee tour alliance, they will be using the $1 per visitor mechanism to then redirect 50% of the funds raised to the Monteverde Institute reforestation and sustainability program and 50% to the Community Fund with the mission of supporting productive activities that promote food security in the short and medium term.

ANNUAL EVENT COLLABORATOR

FCM gives thanks to the host of the Annual Community Barbecue:

In 2019, we celebrated five years of collaboration with Cabañas La Pradera as gracious hosts of our annual fundraiser.  FCM is grateful to this small team of family and friends with deep roots in the Monteverde community.
