Part of our strategic Travelers' Philanthropy initiative that unites businesses and customers in the tourism sector with local environmental, social, and economic causes.

1. We seek out businesses and individuals who are community-minded and dedicated to caring for the people of Monteverde and their cloud forest home.
2. Then, we work together to create a mechanism for channeling dollars into the community. This takes many forms: annual giving, matching customer donations, and donated proceeds from a select product, for example.

3. Finally, we reinvest those funds in our impact model and, principally, our Small Grants Program.
Alianza Monteverde
Alianza Monteverde joined the Community Fund with a focus on the mental and emotional health of the young adults in Monteverde. This group of local companies not only strived to provide a unique experience in Monteverde through the sale of touristic packages, but have committed to allocate a percentage of their profits to invest in the well-being of young people in the community, developing and leading a series of projects. Since 2021 they've held two day camp sessions under the name "Escape", where a diverse group of local youth learned about mental health, important life skills and non violent communication. Although the Alliance no longer continues working together as an economic partnership, many of them continue to support the Escape camp.

In 2019, we celebrated five years of collaboration with Cabañas La Pradera as gracious hosts of our annual fundraiser. FCM is grateful to this small team of family and friends with deep roots in the Monteverde community.
