FISCAL AGENCY
Removing barriers to funding for community groups,
so they can focus on the life-changing work they do best.
WHY FISCAL AGENCY?
Small, community-led groups and organizations face laborious processes and liabilities in order to achieve a tax-exempt status. But Monteverde Community Fund removes those barriers by acting as their fiscal sponsor and enabling them to receive tax-free donations.

WHAT IS A FISCAL AGENT?
A fiscal agent is an established IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that agrees to accept donations on behalf of a group that does not have IRS tax exemption. Under this arrangement, a charitable group can get more funding to perform its mission. Source: Houston Chronicle
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Donations made to an organization for which MCF is the fiscal agent are processed by MCF staff. MCF requires a 7% commission for account management, liability, and reporting.
