Learn about the variety of community-led projects that are receiving support through the Monteverde Community Fund in this edition of our program.

Grupo Escape

The Escape group consistently opens safe spaces throughout the year for young people aged 14 to 17. Through different exercises and activities, they emphasize the emotional and mental health of youth in the community. They are supported by private and public institutions in the region.

Grupo Bellas Artes Monteverde

Itinerant art school free of charge, open to children and young people from 6 to 17 years of age in the canton of Monteverde.

Mercadito de Verdes

Located in the Community Garden, this is a space for sales of local products and empowerment of women heads of household, entrepreneurs, artisans and community members.

Parque Valle Bonito

The organized women of the Valle Bonito community together with public and private institutions plan to continue building and improving the facilities of the Community Park.

Redes y Semillas del Bosque

Strengthening the development of girls, adolescents and low income families who

live in the vicinity of the Monteverde cloud forest, through community meetings and learning, focused on the development of their creative and critical thinking, their autonomy and the consolidation of their cultural rights.

Aroma de Café

Non-profit folkloric dance artistic group.

80% of the money distributed this term comes from local coffee producers.

The Monteverde Coffee Tours Alliance played an indispensable role in supporting our Small Grants Program in 2022. Using the system that allocates $1 per visitor to community projects, they have raised over $77,000 to date, demonstrating once again the enormous potential we have as an organized community and tourist destination.

ENVIRONMENT

For local projects that address local environmental challenges such as forest connectivity, protection of water resources and urban sanitation, among others.

For projects in the areas of public recreation, participation in the arts, public health and civic participation, among others.

For local projects that address local challenges brought about by global climate change or by actions within our region which emit greenhouse gases.
